Preparation Strategies For Cracking The Gate Exam There is no ideal strategy for GATE preparation. As long as you cover all the topics, any strategy should work . it changes form person to person some do hard work and some do smart work. so it is better to know what are your plus point and minus point. I will share some tips you must know while preparing for GATE. This is largely based on CS paper, but should work for other streams too . BEFORE EXAM: Understand that you don't have to get 100 marks in GATE :) I think even 90 is a tough ask. Toppers answer around 85-90 marks (of course it depends on the paper's difficulty, but the general trend is this). Self-study plays a major role, but I would suggest joining a coaching institute ,because most of student I didn't have good faculty for some subjects in my under-graduate program and It was amazed at how well you can understand a concept when taught by a really competent faculty.
